Genesis 2:25 commentary

THOMAS SCOTT COMMENTARY

Verse 25. The human body, the most noble production in the material creation, would not have required concealment, had not sin disgraced the Creator’s work: and probably shame would never have been excited, in the manner in which it has been ever since, had not he sinful nature been communicated with the propagation of the human species.

THOMAS HAWEIS COMMENTARY

Verse 25: They needed not clothes for defense, and their spotless innocence knew no shame; this is the offspring of sin. Though the blushes of modesty are so pleasing now, we should not forget that guilt first covered the face with shame.
